Jagga's Journey

Jagga.jpg

Jagga, accompanied by his sibling Bhagga, arrived at the shelter towards the end of 2017. They were both rescued as puppies from a collapsed godown at a construction site in New Gurgaon. The tragic incident took the lives of several stray dogs, including a female dog who had recently given birth. Some locals managed to extract a few dogs, including Jagga and Bhagga, from the debris. Recognizing our founder, Saptarshi Roy's passion for animal welfare, the police officers at the site approached him and requested him to provide a home for the two puppies. The siblings were brought to the Safe House shelter, but unfortunately, Bhagga succumbed to internal bleeding a few days later, while Jagga survived.

Jagga is a sociable dog who eagerly interacts with every resident of the shelter. He possesses an alpha male personality, which occasionally leads to conflicts with other dogs. However, regardless of the outcome of these skirmishes, Jagga remains sociable and maintains a friendly demeanor. He quickly adapts and befriends other dogs in the shelter.

Due to his enthusiastic nature, Jagga has earned the reputation of being the "doorman" of the shelter. He rushes to greet anyone entering through the gate, displaying his friendly and welcoming nature.
