Andhee: The Blind Charm

During a visit to an animal shelter run by the Dhyan Foundation in Sohna in 2017, Saptarshi, our founder, saw a trembling blind dog. The dog was new to the shelter and had been rescued just a day before. He was confined to a room, alone and shivering, despite the sweltering month of July. Moved by her plight, Saptarshi decided to bring her to the Safe House for Animal Shelter.
Andhee, as she was named thereafter, has been a resident of the shelter for over 5 years now. She has adjusted remarkably well. The veterinarian who examined her diagnosed that she wasn't born blind but likely lost her vision in an accident. Despite her blindness, Andhee possesses an incredible sense of direction and displays remarkable discipline. She knows exactly where to go for bathroom breaks and can independently find her way back to her room.
It is a rarity for a blind dog to thrive in a shelter environment for such an extended period, but Andhee has defied the odds. She has become a beloved member of the shelter community. Additionally, Andhee has developed a fondness for chicken liver, which is included in her meals as her favourite food.
